Stock the Pantry

The Fourth Annual Stock the Pantry Party will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Food For Thought Santa Rosa Beach Pantry, 132 Market Street. Guests are asked to bring $5 or five food items (suggested items include plastic jars of peanut butter, plastic jars of jelly, granola bars, fruit cups, snack crackers, and/or breakfast bars) to donate to enjoy all the fun. The Mellow Mushroom Bake Bus will cook up pizza, guests will enjoy treats, drinks, a raffle, and fun activities for the family.

Throwback Thursday Cinema

Enjoy the free family friendly movie "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" at 7 p.m. p.m. Aug. 31 on the Events Plaza Lawn at the Village of Baytowne Wharf.

Reception

A grand opening reception for Not Too Shabby will be held from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 31 at the new location, 9755 Hwy. 98 West in Miramar Beach. Guests will enjoy lite bites and cocktails while Chris Alvarado provides live entertainment.

Art Walk

Stroll through the Village streets and view art from local and regional artists at The Annual Baytowne Art Walk from 5-10 p.m. Sept. 1-3. Enjoy live music throughout the festival from local artists.

Labor Day Music Festival

Boggy Bayou Productions LLC with co-sponsor The Mattie Kelly Arts Center will host the American Legends Labor Day Music Festival from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Mattie Kelly Amphitheater on the Northwest Florida State College campus. Special performances will pay tribute to the “American greats” and include Joshua Paul Sirten — A Sinatra Tribute, Ron Adams Entertainment — A Shadow of the King, and The Temptations Revue featuring original Temptations member, Reggie Reed.

Reserved seats are $25 and general admission lawn seats are $15. Blankets and folding chairs are allowed, but no coolers. There will be food and a full bar available onsite.

First Impressions

The Arts and Design Society's show “First Impressions” features work depicting the artists’ interpretation of any of the Impressionist painters. The show runs through Sept. 1. Gallery hours are 12-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Admission to the gallery is free.

Greek Festival

The 26th Annual Greek Festival will beheld from 4-9 p.m. Sept. 1; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 2; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island. Admission is $2 with free parking. Taste various Greek foods, des-serts, and enjoy the sounds provided by the Kosta Kastanis Band. Local Greek dancers will perform and there will be multiple vendors selling their crafts and goods. Lamb will be served at the new outside Tav-erna/Greek Sports Bar.

Baytowne Art Walk

The Annual Baytowne Art Walk will be held from 5-10 p.m. Sept. 1-3 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Stroll the Village streets and browse a variety of artwork from both regional and local artists. Enjoy live music throughout the festival from local artists.

Art exhibit at Destin Library

The Destin Library will showcase the work of local artist Kymberly Anne Howell Heartsong during September. The “Phases of Life” exhibit features a collection of Abstract Real-ism paintings Admission is free and open to the public. Football Tailgate Party

The Gulf Okaloosa Island will host the first Waterfront Football Tailgate Party in celebration of the kick-off of college football season beginning at noon Sept. 2 with games all day on the Splashboard LED TV. John Hart Project plays live music from 12-3 p.m. and Heritage from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The main event of the day will be the Florida State vs. Alabama game, kicking off at 6 p.m. Tickets for a barbeque are $25/advance at Eventbrite (search Oka-loosa Island) and $30/door.

Outdoor Magic

Walton County Cultural Arts Alliance's Visual Arts Committee will host an art exhibit Outdoor Magic now through Sept. 4 at Foster Gallery in Grand Boulevard. The exhibit features 26 pieces of artwork by 17 artists created by painting outdoors, also called en plein air.

Wiggin’ Out For A Cause

The Third Annual Wiggin’ Out For A Cause will take place from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 7 at Grand Boulevard in the Emerald Coast Theatre. The 80’s psychedelic rock ‘n roll theme will be filled with wine, food, fun, live DJ music and happenings, including wig trans-formations and make up. Ladies can partake in karaoke, dancing, photo booth, and more, with a silent auction. Tickets are $75 each; at the door are $100. VIP tickets that include a designer wig are $125 if pre-purchased, and $150 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center. Benefit for ECCAC

The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center will host a Team Up & Tailgate Party at 6 p.m. Sept. 9 on the top floor of the office building adjacent to the parking garage in Destin Commons. A football theme décor will prevail with many activities, including a cornhole competition, wine pong, live and silent auctions and plenty of music, food and drinks. Purchase a table for 10 for $1,000 and it will be decorated in your choice of team colors. Individual tickets are also available at $125 per person.

Hispanic Fest

Music, food, vendors, folkloric groups, and more will be found at Hispanic Fest 2017 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Emer-ald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island. Proceeds from the event will benefit United for a Good Cause Inc’s 13th Annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Needy Children’s Fiesta. Ad-mission is $5/person with children under 12 free.

Harpist Katie Ott at Destin Library

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will host harpist Katie Ott at 2 p.m. Sept. 12 for an afternoon of discussion about the history of the harp and its evolution from the Egyptian lyre into the modern instrument. National Drive Electric Week

During National Drive Electric Week, learn all about driving electric at this all electric vehicle event from 3-7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Destin Commons. Oktoberfest at HarborWalk

10th Anniversary

The Family Birth Place at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast will celebrate its 10th anniver-sary with a birthday celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 16 across from the entrance of the Family Birth Place. Club LA

The Magpie Salute, the new 10-piece band that brings together Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Sven Pipien of The Black Crowes with other dynamic musicians and co-ed singers from around the world, is cur-rently in the midst of a year-long national headlining tour in support of the band’s self-titled debut album. Festival of the Arts
