3 THINGS TO DO — FESTIVALS
1. Flutterby Arts Festival
Celebrate the 26th year of the migration of the monarch butterfly through the local area with art activities, live music, theatre and dance performances, art exhibits, a butterfly parade and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20-21 in Watersound Origins. Proceeds benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance. Admission is free.
2. Harvest Wine & Food Festival
Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation presents the second annual Harvest Wine & Food Festival Oct. 25-27 at WaterColor. Sip more than 400 wines and pair them with local Gulf Coast cuisine. The team at DCWAF is breaking from tradition to raise funds in support of the Florida Disaster Fund via a virtual paddle raise during Harvest Wine & Food Festival. he paddle raise will be available throughout the festival through DCWAF's official mobile bidding platform, Give Smart. Bidders do not need to have a ticket to the festival to participate in the virtual paddle raise or the silent auction. Registration is available at HWFF.givesmart.com.
The festival proceeds and silent auctions benefit more than 15 local charities whose aim is to meet the needs of at-risk youth in the Northwest Florida area. For more information about the events, times and tickets, visit www.dwaf.org.
3. 2018 Harvest Market
The lawns of Rosemary Beach will be filled with artists from across the southeast in the media of fine art, folk art, handmade jewelry and furniture, natural skin care products, pottery, and more from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27. Throughout the day, there will be activities including the Boo Kid Block Party from 2-5 p.m., pumpkin carving contest, best costume contest, the Rosemary Beach Haunted Cemetery and a community-wide trick-or-treat. All events are free and open to the public.
