Blues, Brews & BBQ

Forgotten Music Festival

Forgotten Music LLC has partnered with Wellstock Festival to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Michael on the Forgotten Coast. ADSO window display

During November, The Arts and Design Society presents the watercolor art of Pat Farwell, who divides her time between Miramar Beach and Minnesota. Window art is available for viewing 24/7 at the Art Center Gallery, 17 First Street SE in Fort Walton Beach. Fall Into Dance

The Northwest Florida Ballet’s Fall Into Dance four-course wine dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Vin’tij Food & Wine at 500 Grand Blvd. in Miramar Beach. A Chorus Line

Kids Free Weekend

A community-wide amateur BBQ cook-off, HolySmokes! will be held from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on the back lawn at Immanuel Anglican Church. BBQ tastings, live music, kids’ games and good food will be available for all. Proceeds benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Kite Film Fest

Toy 4 Tots Motorcycle Ride

The Emerald Coast Harley Owner’s Group (HOG) Chapter #3605, sponsored by Emerald Coast Harley Davidson, will host their 39th Annual Toys 4 Tots Motorcycle Run Nov. 18 to benefit the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center and Children in Crisis. Florida Ballet

The Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) presents The Nutcracker Nov. 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center and features live musical accompaniment by the NFB Symphony Orchestra, led by music director and conductor David Ott. Independent Film Series

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will sponsor a movie, “Remem-ber,” a drama, mystery, thriller, at 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Destin Library. The free movie is open to the public and directed toward a mature audience.

Thanksgiving Cuisine

It’s A Wonderful Life

NWFSC presents Joe Landry’s It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29-30 and 2 p.m. Dec. 1 in the Sprint Theater. Christmas Parade

The City of Destin’s 34th Annual Christmas Parade, Christmas at the Beach, will be held Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. beginning at Downtown Destin Shop-ping Center (Old Time Pottery) and traveling west down Harbor Boulevard (Hwy. 98) to Stahlman Avenue. Spectators should stand on the north side of Harbor Boulevard to watch the parade.

A Peter White Christmas

Sounds of the Season

The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s 23rd Annual Sounds of the Season features The Alleluia Orchestra and special guest artist Buddy Mullins for two performances at 4 and 6 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Destin Life Center at Destin United Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive. Mattie Kelly Community Chorus welcomes anyone from the community to join in with rehearsals Wednesday evenings at Destin United Methodist Church (Choir Room at 6:30 p.m.) or Village Baptist Church (Choir Room at 7 p.m.). Admission to the concert is a donation of a new unwrapped child’s toy for participating churches outreach ministries.

Sinfonia Gala

Sinfonia Gulf Coast’s annual gala, “A Swingin’ Little Christmas,” will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at The Henderson Beach & Spa Resort in Destin and will feature singer/actress Jane Lynch. Lynch is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winner for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on “Glee” and is currently the two-time Emmy Award-winning host of NBC's “Hollywood Game Night.” For “A Swingin’ Little Christmas,” Lynch brings along Kate Flannery (NBC’s “The Office”), Tim Davis (“Glee”), and The Tony Guerrero Quintet for the jazziest musical holiday concert ever.

Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market

The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s. Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams. Market is held on Wednesdays from Me-morial Day through Labor Day.
