The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s 23rd annual Sounds of the Season features The Alleluia Orchestra and special guest artist Buddy Mullins for two performances at 4 and 6 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Destin Life Center at Destin United Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive.

"As the holiday season of giving unfolds, we embrace the generosity of our community that allows us to deliver impactful outreach programming to people of diverse backgrounds and abilities,” said Melanie Moore, education director of MKAF.

The Mattie Kelly Community Chorus welcomes anyone from the community to join in this community concert, including winter visitors. To participate, please attend one of the following rehearsal schedules on Wednesday evenings at Destin United Methodist Church (Choir Room at 6:30 p.m.) or Village Baptist Church (Choir Room at 7 p.m.).

A group rehearsal will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 10 at Village Baptist Church. The final dress rehearsal will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 15 at Destin United Methodist Church.

Admission to the concert is a donation of a new unwrapped child’s toy to be distributed among the participating church’s outreach ministries to provide a brighter Christmas for families in need during the holidays. A portion of this year's toy donations will benefit children and families impacted by Hurricane Michael.

A love offering at intermission will benefit the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s community outreach initiatives benefiting students, adults and children with special needs, at-risk youth and wounded warriors with visible and invisible injuries in Okaloosa and Walton counties.
