ADSO Window Gallery Display
To provide a convenient Art Gallery for the community, the Arts and Design Society presents month-long free exhibits in their studio windows, facing First Street, Fort Walton Beach. In September, the display for easy viewing features the art of Tuny Jennings, who works in mixed media, with an emphasis on color and texture. Her work, in folk art style, is limited to one subject — cats, that she feels are works of art in themselves. The Art Center Gallery is at 17 First Street, SE.
College Football Saturdays
Watch games all day every Saturday, September through November, at HarborWalk Village and score great food and drink specials.
Tri-County Fair Fine Arts Show
The 36th Northwest Florida Tri-County Fair Fine Arts Show, sponsored by the Arts and Design Society and the Northwest Florida Fair Board, is scheduled from 5-10 p.m. Sept. 25-27 and 2-10 p.m. Sept. 28 at C.H. Bull Rigdon Fairgrounds and Recreation Complex, 1958 Lewis Turner Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach. The Opening Reception for the Show is from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 22. Artworks in every medium will be on display, and high school and middle school art will be a special feature. There is no charge for the Reception or Show. Both are open to the public.
Sip and Paint Class
The Arts and Design Society offers a Sip and Paint Class with Hannah Flynn from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 26. Cost is $35/members and $40/non-members. All supplies are included. The theme of this session is “Emerald Waves,” a vibrant seascape, of waves breaking on the beach. Students may bring their beverage of choice to enjoy while learning to paint with acrylics and enhance their skills. Concerts in the Village
Emerald Coast Blues Brothers enjoy making people smile and have a good time and will arrive in their movie authentic Bluesmobile at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, 4323 Commons Drive W in Destin. Bring a bottle of wine, your favorite craft beer, some snacks and a blanket or chair. Food and drinks available for purchase. Sinfonia hosts Cabaret Dinner
The 14th season of the Sinfonia Gulf Coast starts on a high note from 5:30-9 p.m. Sept. 26 at Seagar's Prime Steaks & Seafood, 4000 S Sandestin Blvd. in Miramar Beach with Tony and Olivier Award-winning singer and actor, Gavin Creel. Creel received a Tony Award for his performance as Cornelius Hackl in "Hello, Dolly" starring Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce. The evening includes valet parking, a sparkling wine reception, four-course meal prepared by Seagar's Executive Chef Lee Guidry, wine, all gratuities, and the performance. Drink & Draw
Arts and Design Society’s Drink & Draw will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 26 at Crust Pizzeria, 1826 Lewis Turner Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach. Sinfonia Gulf Coast Season
The symphony orchestra, led by Music and Artistic Director Demetrius Fuller, presents an “out of this world” lineup of concerts, guest artists and educational initiatives during the coming season. At 5:30 p.m. Sept. 26, the Sinfonia presents Tony and Olivier Award-winning singer and actor Gavin Creel at Seagar's Prime Steaks & Seafood. Nov. 15: The annual gala at The Henderson brings the Northwest Florida debut of Vanessa Williams, one of the most respected and multi-faceted performers in entertainment today. The evening begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are $295 per person, which includes valet parking, VIP reception, dinner, cash bar, gratuities, and performance.
Nov. 23: Sinfonia is “Mad for Mozart” for its first Silver Sands Premium Outlets’ Classical Connections of the season at Grace Lutheran Church at 7:30 p.m. with young Concert Artists Award winner, violinist SooBeen Lee. Tickets range from $29.50 to $45 per person.
Dec. 13: Sinfonia's festive holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. features singer/actor of stage and screen Matthew Morrison, who performs cherished and festive holiday medleys, plus many of the songs that he has performed throughout his career. Tickets range from $29.50 to $55 per person.
Feb. 1: The second installment of the Silver Sands Premium Outlets’ Classical Connections Series will be at 7:30 p.m. at Village Baptist Church and features 2017 Bronze Medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and two icons of Russian orchestral music, Dmitri Shostakovich and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
May 16: The main season will come to a cinematic finale at the Emerald Coast Convention Center with “Jurassic Park in Concert.” Experience it projected in HD with Sinfonia Gulf Coast performing John Williams’ iconic score live to picture.
May 24: The season comes to an official close with Sinfonia Goes Pops!, presented al fresco on the amphitheater lawn at Alys Beach at 7:30 p.m. This patriotic, family-friendly concert is free and open to the public and concludes with a festive firework display.
Arts and Drafts

The Arts and Design Society is hosting its “Assemblage” Show, featuring art that incorporates two or more unrelated objects in one art work, through Sept. 27. Urban Sketchers
The Arts and Design Society’s Urban Sketchers will meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 28 at Red Robin in front of the Cordova Mall in Pensacola. Because of the heat, sketching will take place in the mall. Book Discussion Group

Destin Seafood Festival
The 41st Annual Destin Seafood Festival on the Destin harbor will be held Oct. 4-6 with live music, arts and crafts, and fresh seafood. Entertainment on the Main Stage Friday includes De JaVu, 4-5:30 p.m.; Flash Flood, 6-8 p.m.; and The Manly Hero, 8:15-10 p.m. Saturday music includes The Good Lookings from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Tyler Livingston from 2-4:30 p.m.; Ben Loftin and the Family from 5-7:30 p.m.; and I'MAGENE from 8-10 p.m. Duende begins the Sunday music from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by Sway JaVu, 1:30-3:30 p.m. and Heritage from 4-6 p.m.
Benefit for Junior League
McCaskill & Company will host an exclusive David Yurman Event from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12 at their Destin gallery, 13390 US Hwy. 98 W. A portion of the sales made from the event will directly benefit the Junior League of the Emerald Coast.
Beer & Ballet
The Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) begins its 50th anniversary season at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 with Beer & Ballet, a mixed repertory performance at Grayton Beer Company featuring NFB company dancers and guest artists. This casual, limited-seating event allows patrons to experience a variety of contemporary and classical works from guest choreographers and the NFB repertoire. Guests will have the opportunity to sample Grayton Beer Company's extensive beer collection along with light hors d'oeuvres. A cash bar will also be available.

Watch the Destin Fishing Rodeo catches hit the docks with daily weigh-ins from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. then rock out to a free concert with Scenic Heights at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 on the HarborWalk Village main stage.

Emerald Coast Duck Regatta
The ninth annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta will be held Oct. 19 at the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort benefiting Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Volunteer Guild. Fun activities begin at 10 a.m., including Abrakadoodle face painters, a scavenger hunt, Hula-Hoop contest, duck dance and access to the Baytowne Carousel for children 12 and under from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The duck race will begin at 1 p.m. Ducks are available for adoption at the Sacred Heart Hospital Gift Shop in Miramar Beach, online at www.emeraldcoastduckregatta.com or at Baytowne Wharf the day of the event. Purchase one duck for $10, three ducks for $27, six ducks for $50 or 12 ducks for $100. Proceeds will benefit the Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center and the expansion of services to include oncology rehabilitation for children and adults.

The inaugural Alys Beach Firkin Fête will take place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 on Kelly Green in Alys Beach with participating breweries showcasing their special brews in a distinctive cask ale, called a firkin. LIVE@TheREP Concert
Blood is thicker than water and there’s nothing like family creating music together to prove it. With contrasting blood-harmonies and left-handed/right-handed guitar playing, singer-songwriter duo The Talbott Brothers combine rock, blues and pop with honest storytelling. Pumpkinpalooza – Booze & Boo’s Bingo Pub Crawl
"When witches go riding, and black cats are seen. The moon laughs and whispers, 'tis near Halloween." An evening of revelry, killer drink specials and fun awaits from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 26 at HarborWalk Village. The Fantasticks
Longest-running musical in the world, The Fantasticks will be presented by Emerald Coast Theatre Company Sept. 26 through Oct. 6 at 560 Upstairs at Grand Boulevard. The funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart is for ages 12 and over.
Golf Cart Drive-In
Join in a nostalgic tradition with a modern twist, a classic drive-in movie for golf carts, at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in October at North Park in Grand Boulevard. Popcorn will be provided. Bring your own beverages. Don’t have a cart? Just bring a blanket or chair.
Wellness Wednesdays
Every Wednesday morning in the month of October. Grand Fitness will host a complimentary 50 minute group fitness class at 9 a.m. in Grand Park at Grand Boulevard.
Pumpkinpalooza – Spook Street
Have a Spooktacular time celebrating Halloween on the Harbor from 5-9 p.m. Oct. 27 at HarborWalk Village. This family-friendly event kicks off with a scavenger hunt and free kid’s activities. The first 200 to arrive will receive scavenger hunt cards. Village merchants will be providing goodies galore. Visit each shop and restaurant for a treat. Costume contest registration begins at 6 p.m. Contest begins at 6:30 p.m. Categories include Kids 0-4, 5-9, 10-12 as well as pets and families. The evening ends with a boo-ming fireworks display over the harbor. Donations from the weekend will go to Hurricane Michael Relief.
Fall Festival
The City of Destin’s 19th Annual Fall Festival will be held from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Destin Community Center. Please bring one non-perishable food item for admission. There will be booths with games and activities, a cakewalk, a costume contest, a spacewalk/slide, a jack-o-lantern contest, and food for sale. Tickets for games and food will be on sale for 4/$1 or 20/$5, with most games costing one ticket. Registration for the costume contest is 5-6 p.m. Call 654-5184.
Jack-O-Lantern Contest
The City of Destin’s 19th Annual Fall Festival Jack-O-Lantern Contest will be held Oct. 28 at the Destin Community Center.\ All carved pumpkins are to be dropped off before 3 p.m. and will be judged that same day. First through third place prizes will be awarded in these categories: scariest, funniest, and most original. The pumpkins will be lit and on display at the City of Destin’s Fall Festival. All pumpkins not picked up by 8 p.m. Oct. 29 will be discarded. Call 654-5184.
Blues, Brews & BBQ
Fire up the grills, tap the kegs and crank up the tunes for HarborWalk Village’s 12th annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival from 12-4 p.m. Nov. 8. This barbecue block party will fill the docks with the aroma of smoky ribs and pulled pork as more than 15 of the area’s finest restaurants compete in a spirited and fun BBQ competition, offering samples of creative BBQ styles and specialty. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners in each category. Tribute Weekend
The Village of Baytowne Wharf is bringing back free Tribute Weekend Nov. 8-10 on the Events Plaza lawn. Rock out the weekend and enjoy live music from The Shadow of the King (Elvis Tribute) from 6-8 p.m. Friday; Pandora's Box (Aerosmith Tribute) from 7-9 p.m. Saturday; and Not Quite Fab (Beatles Tribute) from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Grab your blankets and lawn chairs for a jam-packed weekend of incredible talent.
Destin Crafted
Local company Wine World will once again team up with The Henderson Beach Resort & Spa to host an exclusive craft beer and bourbon tasting event raising funds for Children in Crisis from 1-4 p.m. Nov. 9 on the scenic pool deck and lawn at The Henderson. Featured will be hundreds of samples from over 40 renowned small-production breweries and distilleries alongside food from Destin’s favorite eateries with live music entertainment and more. Guests will also have the option to enter a raffle for a grand prize, raising additional funds for the charity. Sparkling waves, soft breezes, and live music set the mood for SunQuest Cruises' Champagne Cruise from 7:15-10 p.m. Nov. 15 for ages 21 and up. Docked at Sandestin’s Baytowne Marina, the Solaris and its chefs are featuring a four-course menu each paired with premium champagnes. Cost is $95/person. Sparkling Wine & Holiday Lights
Start the holiday season with a special sparkling event during the Seventh Annual Sparkling Wine and Holiday Lights from 4-6 p.m. Nov. 16 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. This sparkling event will feature more than 30 champagnes and delicious appetizers at featured Village restaurants. Guests can enjoy the sounds of the season with carolers and a sneak peek of the first tree lighting of the season.
Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market
The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s. Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams. Market is held on Wednesdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
