CRI expands for the second time in two weeks
CPA Firm Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC (CRI), the third largest accounting firm in the South, has expanded in Louisiana by merging with local Shreveport firm Roberts, Cherry and Company. This merger announcement is CRI’s second within two weeks as the firm executes an aggressive growth strategy that includes the addition of this new Louisiana market.
As of this merger announcement, CRI is now 31 locations strong with more than 800 professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional client service and implementing best practices.
“Expanding into Shreveport enhances CRI’s presence in Louisiana, which translates into more efficient service delivery for our existing clients and new opportunities for businesses throughout the state,” said William H. Carr, chairman and managing partner of CRI. “As an additional benefit, the Roberts, Cherry and Company team delivers specialized expertise in the oil and gas industry which effectively adds a new niche to CRI’s specializations.”
Shelter House receives $20,000 grant
Shelter House, the domestic violence center serving Okaloosa and Walton counties, recently received a grant for $20,000 from The Mary Kay Foundation. In observation of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, The Mary Kay Foundation awards $20,000 grants to more than 150 domestic violence shelters across the country for a total of $3 million.
“This grant comes at a time when funding for domestic violence services is being slashed across the country,” said Shelter House Executive Director Michelle Sperzel. “Shelter House touches more than 5,000 lives each year in our community, and these funds will help us to continue offering vital services to domestic violence victims and their children. Mary Kay has always been at the forefront of empowering women, and we are grateful for the support we receive from the Foundation and local Mary Kay representatives.”
