Arbor Wealth’s McDowell presents at University of Alabama

Margaret R. McDowell, ChFC, AIF, firm founder and principal of Arbor Wealth Management, LLC, was a guest presenter to the University of Alabama’s Principles of Investment class at Adams Hall in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 19. Arbor Wealth Management is a “Fee-Only” Registered Investment Advisory Firm near Sandestin in Miramar Beach.

“We were thrilled to have Margaret come and speak to our class,” said Dr. Ann Woodyard, CFP, instructor for the Principles of Investment Course, which includes a combination of undergraduate and graduate students. “It’s an invaluable experience for our students to interact with practicing professionals and to understand how the dynamic economic environment affects what we do.”

Jill Smith joins Dr. Bawa and Associates

Dr. Nitin Bawa, president and founder of Dr. Bawa and Associates, recently announced Jill Smith, a certified physician assistant, has joined the practice.

“Jill has a passion for research and enjoyed her time conducting trials, we are happy to welcome her experience to our practice” stated Bawa. Jill currently resides in Seagrove with her husband and dogs, where she enjoys running on 30-A and spending time with her family on the beach.

Harlow appointed to national board

Sherry Harlow, APR, marketing and public relations director of Eglin Federal Credit Union, has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the Universal Accreditation Board in New York City. The UAB is a 20-member board that oversees professional development and accreditation of public relations practitioners in the United States and several foreign countries. Harlow was selected to serve from 1,300 members in the Southern Public Relations Federation covering the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Northwest Florida.

Harlow is a founding member of the Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization in Okaloosa County and a 27-year member of the Florida Public Relations Association. One of her many honors was recognition in the Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women’s Wall of Honor in 2010.
