Members of the Prize Committee have been hard at work since early November visiting local businesses. Chairman Paul Hewitt reports that local merchants have been happy to see the return of winter visitors and have been generous in their support of the club.
Along with Paul and returning members of the committee, Pam and Dave Chandler and Linda and John Testa, new recruits Mike and Marion Hoyles and Sigrid and Arnie Aschleman have also been around town greeting our business community. As all prizes are awarded the name of the donating sponsor will be recognized. We welcome all of our sponsors to join us every Tuesday morning at the community center. Sixteen tables will be available for display purposes. Sponsors are welcome to supply flyers, business cards, and discount coupons, which will be displayed for the membership at every registration and meeting. To contact the prize committee, please email destinsbprizecommittee@gmail.com.
A note to the membership who will attend the ceremony on Nov. 19. Fees remain at $8 per person for the 12/13 season. The formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place outside the Community Center promptly at 2 p.m. Our members will stay outside until the completion of this ceremony. Registration will not commence until after the ribbon is cut. We will have coffee, and donuts, supplied by Tuffy's Auto Service Center, 4604 Opa Locka Lane, available once members are registered. Information about golf play days, computer club, fishing and Christmas activities will be available at that time. Most other activities will not begin until the New Year. Looking forward to greeting all returning snowbirds and meeting new friends,
