Museum presented 2012 check by AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar

This year AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar, with the help of community support, their amazingly hard-working staff, and dedication of Alan Laird, was able to donate more than $9,000 to the Destin History & Fishing Museum through its Annual Tin Cup Classic Golf Tournament and by allowing the Museum to use their employee parking lot during the Destin Seafood Festival for a parking concession.
Over the past six years, the Museum has raised more than $29,000 through the generosity of these efforts and this year was the most successful year.
AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar is committed to giving back to the Destin community. Each year AJ’s gives back by holding special events to benefit the Museum and community. The Destin History and Fishing Museum is dedicated to preserving the rich fishing history of our community, known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village,” which is a great partnership for the restaurant which also hosts the Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo.
Museum Executive Director Jean Melvin said, “The Destin History & Fishing Museum is very grateful to have Alan Laird for a major benefactor. Alan has been a constant, unfailing supporter of the Museum since its inception in 2005. He never misses an opportunity to raise money for the Museum. The Tin Cup Golf Tournament is a perfect example. Anytime the Museum has a need, AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar is standing by ever ready to help out.”
