Destin resident beach and boat launch passes available

City of Destin residents can now pick up their 2013 Henderson Beach State Park passes and Joe’s Bayou Boat Launch passes. The passes are free to city residents (living inside the Destin city limits) and can be obtained at Destin City Hall or the Destin Community Center.

Residents must provide a valid driver license showing Destin residency. A boat and trailer registration is required for obtaining a Joe’s Bayou Boat Launch pass. Residents may also purchase additional boat launch passes for $30 each. Non-residents may purchase annual boat launch passes for $103 each.

The City of Destin has provided resident passes to Henderson Beach State Park since 2001 and to Joe’s Bayou Boat Launch since 2003. Call 837-4242.

Cherry Financial has changed its name to Cherry Wealth Advisors, 501 Mary Esther Cutoff NW, Suite 6, in Fort Walton Beach.

Children’s Hospital assists in low-cost health insurance

Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart is helping families enroll their children in low cost health insurance through Florida KidCare. Florida KidCare is comprehensive health insurance that covers services such as prescription medications, sports physicals, dental care, eye and hearing exams, eyeglasses, doctor’s visits, emergencies, and x-rays.

“Regular physician and dental visits are important to children’s good health,” said Cheryl Pilling, manager of Sacred Heart’s Community Wellness Outreach Program. “With insurance from Florida KidCare, families will be able to obtain the health care their children need to thrive.”
