Miramar Beach resident named on OBU Honor Roll

Miramar Beach resident Joseph McConnell, a junior personal training/strength and conditioning major, was named to Oklahoma Baptist University’s Dean’s Honor Roll for the fall 2012 semester.

Students who achieved a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale are named to the President’s Honor Roll. Those who achieved a grade point average between 3.4 and 3.69 are listed on the Dean’s Honor Roll.

With campuses in Shawnee, Okla., and Oklahoma City, OBU offers 10 bachelor’s degrees with 84 fields of study and two master’s degree programs. The Christian liberal arts university has an overall enrollment of 1,979, with students from 37 states and 26 other countries. The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections will award a $1,200 scholarship at their annual summer conference. Applicants must be either a political science/public or business administration or journalism/mass communication major that has or will have completed two years of college and be enrolled or accepted as a full-time student in a senior college or university in Florida. Applicants must also have been bona fide residents of Florida for two years, and be registered to vote.

Deadline for return of applications to the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections office is March 18.
