Myah Riggans receives commendation

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Myah G. Riggans has received a Flag Letter of Commendation for her efforts as the Language Professional of the Quarter for 4th quarter 2013 for Navy Information Operations Command Georgia. She was chosen for this award due to her actions as an outstanding linguist, language mentor and language instructor.

NIOC Georgia is a subordinate command of U.S. Fleet Cyber Command and comprises Task Force 1050 of the U.S. 10th Fleet. Based at Fort Gordon, its mission is to provide information warfare and expert cryptologic personnel to fleet air, surface, submarine and special warfare combatants and to provide reach back and extended staff support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. European Command Joint Forces Maritime Component commanders.

Riggans is the daughter of Heather M. Anderson of Cheyenne, Wyo., and sister of Charles Bullbear of Gregory, S.D.

She is the granddaughter of Ruby Anderson of Cheney, Kan., and Douglas Anderson of Destin, Fla.

Riggans is a 2009 graduate from Cheyenne East High School, Cheyenne, Wyo.
