Paddle for Tomorrows

Jarrod and Kelly Brown, Special to The Log

It is sponsored by Little Caesars of Fort Walton Beach and Mary Esther and hosted by Fort Walton Yacht Club. Races will begin at 9 a.m. with children’s activities, food, drinks, awards, music, and prize drawings following.

Paddle for Tomorrows is our way of helping our son, Noah, who was born early and diagnosed with cystic fibrosis shortly after his birth.

Being a sponsor of Paddle for Tomorrows will help to find a cure for everyone living with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections as well as obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

Your support can give children like Noah, and adults with CF, the chance to live a long, better quality life! Although many patients with CF live into their early 40s, their life is a series of time consuming daily treatments that must be adhered to in order to keep their lungs clear. The future is brighter than ever for those born with CF, due to drugs being developed to actually fix the defective gene. We believe it is possible to change the course of this disease and are asking for your help.

Please join us in our endeavor to better the lives of people born with cystic fibrosis. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a nonprofit donor-supported organization focused on funding research to develop effective treatments to fight the disease, improve the quality of life for those with CF, and ultimately to find a cure. Proceeds from our event will be donated to CFF to further their mission. With your help we can make a difference for Noah — and all that fight the ravages of cystic fibrosis. Please feel free to check out for more information.
