Sandy goes the ‘extra mile’ for Children in Crisis

Sandy Miller, was presented with the CIC “Extra Mile Club” award for her continued longtime volunteer service to Children in Crisis. Although now “officially” retired, her donation of time and dedication to the CIC vision. For the past several years, Miller has been the smiling face and welcoming voice at the CIC Neighborhood Center.

“Sandy always has a big smile and a warm greeting when you enter the Neighborhood Center,” said Ken Hair, CIC president & CEO. “When asked how she is doing today, her response is always, ‘Marvelous darling, just marvelous’.  She is always there when we need her and has the perfect answer to those difficult phone questions. We just love her.”

It was through the faith community that Miller became involved with the CIC volunteer program.

“We always need help around the office and Sandy decided to pick Monday as her CIC day to help,” Hair said.  “Her help with the busy Monday morning activities really makes a difference and the donation of her time is priceless.”
