Camp designed for adult cancer patients to be held in October

Special to The Log

Adults who have been diagnosed with cancer are encouraged to register now for an upcoming Sacred Heart Health System program that offers support, encouragement and renewal for both patients and their family members. All adult cancer patients are encouraged to participate, even if they are not seeing a Sacred Heart physician.

Camp Bluebird, a retreat experience for people coping with cancer, is scheduled for Oct. 22–24 at Sacred Heart’s Miracle Camp. The theme will be “Carnival Camp,” and activities will include carnival-style games and food, sharing sessions, pampering sessions and more. Located on Beulah Road in Escambia County, the Miracle Camp complex is nestled in a 40-acre nature preserve. The camp includes dormitories, a dining hall, activities building, paved nature trails, a pond and an outdoor chapel.
