BACK TO SCHOOL: Fall field trips to the Gulfarium

Special to the Log

Start the school year off right with a fall field trip to Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park for your classroom or home school group. Enjoy warm temperatures and beat the spring crowds with a hands-on, unique educational experience right in your own backyard.

With discounted student rates available Monday through Friday, classes have the option to reserve a Self-Guided Field Trip to enjoy shows, exhibits, and aquariums on their own, or to add on an Instructor-Led Adventure Program, a 30-40 minute educational component specific to each age group.

Instructor-Led Adventure Programs include marine-focused educational components such as the “Claws and Jaws” class for grades one to three, a hands-on exploration of the Tide Pool critters and a closer look at the physical adaptations of sharks. In “Adventures in Training,” grades nine through 12 get an insider's glimpse of the care and training of dolphins and other marine mammals using positive reinforcement.

Space is limited and reservations for all field trip experiences are required. A $100 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit is required to secure the date and time. Catered lunch is available from Gulfarium's Dive-In Eatery for an additional fee.

For more information or to reserve your field trip, call Gulfarium's Education Coordinator, Stacy DiDonato, at 850-243-9046 x21.
