OCCSW accepting membership applications
The Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women is now accepting individual applications for membership.
Established by the Board of County Commissioners in 1995, the OCCSW works to eliminate barriers to achievement for women and to recognize women who have made significant contributions toward improving the status of women and other citizens of Okaloosa County.
In addition to representatives from women’s organizations, each member of the Board of County Commissioners appoints two individual members to represent his/her district on the OCCSW. Three appointed positions will be vacated at the end of this calendar year: District 2, District 4 At Large, and District 5.
If you are a resident of Okaloosa County who is interested in serving on the OCCSW for a three-year term, please visit http://www.occsw.org/aboutusjoin.htm to find out more and to fill out an application. If you aren't sure what district you live in, take a look at the district map here: http://webgis.co.okaloosa.fl.us/gis/maps/Com_dist8.5x11.pdf.
Applications are due by Sep. 15.
