Chamber CEO and VP recognized by State Chamber Association

During the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals Annual Conference, Destin Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Shane Moody and VP of Communications Elizabeth Spies were recognized for their 20 and 10 years of chamber service, respectively.

Moody, a past FACP Chairman and treasurer, assumed his role as the Destin Area Chamber’s President & CEO in January 2004. Under his leadership, the Chamber won the American Chamber of Commerce Executives Award for Excellence in August 2005 and became an FACP Certified Chamber of Commerce in October 2010. His designation CCE marks him as an ACCE Certified Chamber Executive, the highest individual designation in the chamber profession, an honor he earned in 2007, and FCCP recognizes his designation as a Florida Certified Chamber Professional, an honor he earned in 2012. 

Spies joined the Destin Area Chamber as director of communications in December 2004 and was soon promoted to her current role. She serves the FACP Board of Directors as professional development council chair.
