In America 85 years

Along with the opening day of the Fishing Rodeo, LTC Ret. Samuel Lombardo celebrated the 85th anniversary of his arrival in America at the Marina Café with Destin friends Brig. Ret. and Mrs. Vernon Connor and Vandi Vela of AT&T.

“On Oct. 3, 1929, I, along with my mother Agatha and sisters Josephine and Paula,  met my father Pietro at Ellis Island, N.Y.,” Lombardo said. “People celebrate anniversaries for various reasons, but for me, coming to America is the greatest.”
