Recognized for 20 years of service

The Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners recognized Sherry Rushing, Okaloosa Country Travel Industry sales director, with a “20 Years of Service” award Oct. 7. For the past 20 years, she has served as a travel industry sales professional for the Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau under the direction of the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council. Currently, she works to promote group travel to all markets including weddings, reunions, tour and travel, corporate, association and leisure business for the Emerald Coast.

“I feel honored and privileged to have cultivated relationships with the hospitality industry and to have the opportunity to be a part of many amazing industry events,” Rushing said. “I enjoy traveling and promoting, marketing and selling the beautiful Destin/Fort Walton Beach/Okaloosa Island area. Receiving this 20-year award gives me great pride and joy in knowing that my 20 years of representing this destination is deserving of recognition.”
