Annual run to benefit local Girl Scouts

The Fourth Annual Girl Scout Run 5K and One Mile Run/Walk will be held March 7 along the St. Andrews route. Runners will check in at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1001 West 11th Street in Panama City starting at 8 a.m. 

Participants can register online at Active.com or at the early registration and packet pick-up at the Eleanor W. Lewis Girl Scout Service Center from 3-6 p.m. March 3 at 1515 St. Andrews Blvd. in Panama City. The race brochure is also available on the Girl Scouts’ website at www.gscfp.org.

The entry fee for early 5K registration is $20, and includes a T-shirt and the runner’s choice of a box of Girl Scout cookies. The One Mile entry fee is $15 and includes a race T-shirt. Day-of-race registration costs are $25/5K and $18/One Mile. Registration on March 7 begins at 6:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The 5K and One mile Run/Walk provide something for all ages and fitness levels. Families, individuals, troops and groups are invited to participate. Awards are provided in several age categories. Special recognition is given to the Girl Scout Troop with the most finishers. The school team with the most finishers in the One Mile Run/Walk will receive a pizza party.
