Development program registration

Special to The Log

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast has announced enrollment for its summer youth development programming.

Programs offer members something fun, educational and exciting to do during the school break at an affordable price. Members are provided quality instruction, engaging activities and field trip experiences. Boys & Girls Club members have a higher academic retention rate once returning to school compared to those who do not participate in a summer youth development program.

Because of the high demand of Boys & Girls Clubs intentional impact programming, early registration is highly recommended. Registration opens to all current Club members Feb. 9. General public registration will open on Feb. 23 and will be on a first come, first serve basis until each Club has reached capacity.

The objective of the Boys & Girls Club program is to involve members in safe and fun summer activities as well as national Boys & Girls Club programs. Countless activities and programs are provided, based on the following core areas:  character/leadership, education/career, health/life skills, the arts, sports/fitness/recreation and other specialized programs.  This curriculum allows the Boys & Girls Club to provide a well-rounded experience for their members.

Summer program fees are affordable, and significantly lower than most summer program rates. Membership rates are $350 for the entire summer programming with a one-time $25 registration fee. Payment plans are available as follows:

• Registration Fee and one-third of Summer Program paid on day of registration

• April 13: Second payment due

• May 11: Final payment due.

Other program fee rates are available based on free or reduced lunch eligibility. Contact your local Club or visit www.EmeraldCoastBGC.org for more information

All registrations prior to March 9 will be eligible for a discounted registration fee of $15. Summer programming paid in full at the time of registration will be entered for a drawing to receive one month free of After School Programming during the 2015/16 school year.

Boys & Girls Club Summer Youth Development Program operates Monday — Friday immediately following the last day of school until the 2015/16 school year begins.

Summer programming will be offered at the following Clubs: Pensacola, Milton, Destin Elementary, Fort Walton Beach Youth, Fort Walton Beach Teen, Kenwood Elementary, South Walton, DeFuniak Springs and Walker Elementary.
