MKAF announces special board appointment
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation recently announced the appointment of Heather Pike to serve on the 2015 Board of Directors. “As a huge supporter of the arts and Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve on the board and look forward to working with the existing board members and staff to enhance the access to art in our local community.”
“As a young professional, Pike brings a diverse background of experience and will be a valuable asset to our organization,” said CEO, Marcia Hull. Heather serves as marketing manager of Destin Commons, a Turnberry Associates retail and office complex with over 90 stores. She is actively involved in coordinating marketing for many community activities on behalf of Destin Commons with the Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Niceville Chambers of Commerce. She is also the volunteer marketing lead for the Emerald Coast Relay for Life that benefits the American Cancer Society and is a past chair of the Finest on the Emerald Coast event with the Northwest Florida Daily News.
As a resident of this area for the past 15 years, Pike’s professional background includes working with The Destin Log and Northwest Florida Daily News as an advertising account representative, as well as their marketing and education coordinator with the Newspapers in Education program. Making the Dean’s list for four years, Pike received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialty in Marketing and Management from Florida State University in 2007.
