Westwood Nursing and Rehab earns deficiency free survey
In the most recent health inspection (May 2015) administered by the Florida Department of Public Health, Westwood Nursing and Rehab in Fort Walton Beach was rated deficiency-free. It is unusual for a skilled nursing facility to receive a deficiency-free survey, less than 5.2 percent of nursing homes in Florida achieve deficiency free. This means all services provided at the facility meet or exceed all state and federal standards.
Skilled nursing facilities are inspected annually to evaluate services and renew state licensure. Unannounced, surveyors come in to interview, observe, and check records for several days.
Westwood’s staff develops plans to continuously improve their services and the facility with support from its parent organization, Healthtique Group Management LLC, Hickory, North Carolina.
“All of our staff is to be commended for this show of excellence and caring,” said Executive Director Karen Hughes.
