Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of FPRA installs board, presents awards
The Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) announced its 2015-2016 board of directors, the largest group of public relations professionals to oversee the chapter in its history. In addition, the association named Julie Hurst of Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center “Person of the Year” among other awarded recipients.
“We are honored to be a part of the oldest public relations association in the United States,” said Whitney Lee Ladwig, president of Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of FPRA. “Our local chapter has more than doubled in size in the past year, which speaks volumes to the level of value our organization provides its members in professional development, networking and contributing to our local community.”
Each year during its annual board installation ceremony, the Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of FPRA recognizes a professional who has made a significant contribution within the field of public relations and has enriched the well-being of the community.
This year’s “Person of the Year” award was presented to Julie Hurst, CEO of Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center.
The Northwest Florida Coast Chapter also recognized its “Members of the Year," Erin Igram and Megan Harrison, and “President’s Choice," Whitney Ladwig and Jami Ray. Additionally, outgoing President Andi Mahoney was honored earlier this month at the recent annual conference in Orlando for receiving the “President of the Year” award out of all 15 chapters of the state level of FPRA.
The Visit South Walton team was honored as “Golden Image” award recipients, as well as the chapter receiving a state award for the local “Image Awards” event held in conjunction with the Pensacola chapter in April at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa. Local professionals and FPRA members, Leslie Moland of White-Wilson Medical Center and Stephanie Pettis of Northwest Florida State College were both honored for recently receiving their Accreditations in Public Relations (APR).
