Kids can release energy at the Destin Community Center's Kid's Camp.

Monday morning, kids has no trouble getting to know one another as they ran around the Destin Community Center gym. Activities included a game of volcanoes and craters, where teams work to flip cones on their side and then a few rounds of floor hockey. Kids continuously encouraged their teammates as they made it to each goal.

The program is open to children aged 5 to 12 and involves crafts, games, structured play and snack time. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday and goes through July 28. Weekly rates are $50 for Destin residents and $65 for non-residents with daily rates available. Other summer programs for kids include the lunch program, Kid's Night Out and Gardening Camp.
