Nominations for 2020 Women’s Hall of Fame due Aug. 17

The Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women (OCCSW) is taking nominations for the 2020 Women’s Hall of Fame.

This year marks the 26th Anniversary of the event. Nomination packages must be submitted online at theocsw.org by Monday, Aug 17.

Nominees should be individuals who give freely and unselfishly by volunteering their time to community activities in Okaloosa County; who inspire others and acts as a role model. They may be living or deceased and must be Floridian either by birth or by permanent residency.

Only contributions made while living and/or working in Okaloosa County will be assessed for membership in the Hall of Fame. Nominee’s accomplishments may be in the categories of cultural, humanitarian, education, military, business, cultural, or community service. They may be nominated as a pioneer, contemporary or posthumously. A panel of judges will make their selection based only on the contents of the application. Nominators are asked to select two areas in which they would like to submit their nominees.

The Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women (OCCSW) was established by the Board of County Commissioners in 1995. The OCCSW membership is composed of appointments by county commissioners and representatives of various women’s organizations.
