Walton Habitat for Humanity events include Women Build activities, luncheon
SANTA ROSA BEACH — Habitat for Humanity of Walton County has scheduled the following events listed through May.
Women Build: Repurpose Project
Magnolia Fisher Candles has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Walton County for a Repurpose Project. Attendees will create a homemade Magnolia Fisher Candle using 100 percent chemical-free ingredients.
The class is 6- 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at the Walton County ReStore at 2440 U.S. Highway 98 W. in Santa Rosa Beach.
"Magnolia Fisher Candles embraces what it means to be a woman, and that aligns perfectly with Habitat's women empowerment initiative #WomenBuild2022, a spokesperson said.
All supplies will be provided. Attendees may also bring their own items for an individual feminine touch, such as old jewelry, essential oils or a medium-sized vessel (microwave safe) to add their own twist. Students will be able to take their candle home the same night.
Tickets cost $45 and may be purchased at the MFC website, https://bit.ly/3JUduHM.
Women Build: Power Tool Training
This event is 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the ReStore at 2440 U.S. 98 W. in Santa Rosa Beach.
"Let's begin an amazing build season where we celebrate women's empowerment through important power tool training. See a free, live demonstration of essential worksite tools. Girls play house, women build them," a spokesperson said.
