Art exhibit at Destin Library
The Destin Library will host a mixed medium (Photographs and Quilts) art exhibit through Feb. 1. The exhibit will feature the works of Ed Chandler, Joe Harper and Eleanor McCain.
Chandler is a clinical psychologist who received his first camera at age 9. While at college, Chandler became enthusiastic about photography as well as a new hobby in stained glass. Chandler’s photographic specialties include macro lens work, unusual subject combinations and distortions of reality offered by reflections from puddles, chrome, and mirrored skyscrapers.
Harper is a retired physician who has lived in the area since 1968. He was always interested in photography and has devoted his time since retiring to this unique niche. His photographic focus initially began with landscapes and has progressed to representations of birds, animals, nonâ€posed individuals and natural scenes.
McCain is a practicing internal medicine physician in Fort Walton Beach. Although her career has been in science, she has always sought a creative outlet, focusing on the art of quilting after 1994. McCain has been an exhibiter in Quilt National five times and her works can be seen in numerous public and private collections, including the Mint Museum.
