Annual meeting at Destin History & Fishing Museum

All museum members and prospective members are invited to the annual general membership meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Museum, 108 Stahlman Ave., for an evening of information. Hear a brief history of Destin presented by the Museum’s Director, Jean Melvin.

Museum President Dave Steele will announce the projected developments in the Museum’s future and introduce the Museum’s Board of Directors.

February is Membership renewal time so this is a great opportunity to renew your membership and see the new exhibits including “Eden’s Reef”, “The Turpentine Industry Comes to Destin”, “Evolution from Seine Boats to Party and Charter Boats”, and the “Footprints in the Sand” paver garden.

Local author Athena Marler Creamer will hold a book signing for her latest book, “The Help of Destin — Emma Irby” from 5 to 7 p.m.

Museum members are dedicated to supporting the Mission of the Museum in preserving, documenting, and sharing the complete history of Destin. Memberships available are $20/individual, $50/family, $100/club or charter boat. Other membership and donor levels are available.
