Destin City Hall

All City Council meetings, workshops, executive sessions and CRA Board meetings are held at the City Hall Annex, 4100 Indian Bayou Trail. All other board and committee meetings are held at City Hall, 4200 Indian Bayou Trail. Meetings are subject to change or cancellation without further notice. Agendas for city committees are posted at City Hall for review.

Republican Club

The Okaloosa County Republican Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at American Legion Post 235, 105 S.W. Hollywood Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach. Guest speaker will be Dr. Ty Handy, president Northwest Florida State College. Price of dinner is $12. Make dinner reservations at 651-5049.

Embroiderers’ Guild

The Sand Dunes Chapter of Embroiderers’ Guild of America will meet from 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 26 in room 400, First United Methodist Church of Niceville. Visitors are welcome.

Parrot Head Club

The Emerald Coast Parrot Head Club monthly phlocking will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at Mango’s on the Bayou on Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach.

Philosophical Society

The Emerald Coast Philosophical Society will meet at 3 p.m. Sept. 29 on the second floor of the Tops’l Tennis Center. Foster Sanders, one of the three founders of the organization, will present “The Short, Sweet Precarious Nature of Life.” Call 585-5666.

The Republican Women of Okaloosa Federated will meet at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 2 at Holiday Inn Resort on Okaloosa Island. Okaloosa County Commissioner Dave Parisot, District 2, will be the speaker and will give a briefing on the Restore Act. Food Buying Club

The Kiwanis Club of Destin meets every Thursday at 8 a.m. at the Destin Methodist Church Life Center on Beach Drive in Destin. The public is invited to attend the club’s weekly meetings.

Flotilla 1-4 USCG Auxiliary
