Light the Night
To celebrate the season, Village Baptist Church in Destin will host its 11th annual fall festival, Light the Night, from 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 30. All are invited to join in this family friendly event that offers activities for all ages. Fun activities include carnival games, Trunk-or-Treat and Best Decorated Trunk Contest, Best Costume Contest, bounce house and inflatable slide, hayride, music and a cakewalk.
Halloween at the Rodeo
On Oct. 31, final day of the Rodeo, AJ's hosts trick or treating for the youngsters at AJ's Tiki Village, plus children who are decked out in their Halloween costumes eat free at AJ's from 5-7 p.m. when accompanied by a parent.
After the last fish is hoisted on the scales and following closing ceremonies of the rodeo, fireworks will light up the sky behind AJ's after 7:30 p.m.
Then at 10 p.m. AJ's will have their Adult Halloween contest. Winner takes home $500.
The Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge presents their Eighth Annual Haunted House at the Destin Harbor Boardwalk at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 1-2. Small children are not recommended. Admission is $9. Parking is free with the exception of October 4-5 due to the Seafood Festival.
