Destin City Hall

Genealogy Society
Bert Blackmon will be the guest speaker when the Genealogy Society of Okaloosa County meets at 10 a.m. Oct. 11 at the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida. His will be “Researching Military Records” and will focus on the many kinds of records available for persons who served in the military and where to look for these records. Call 243-0352.
Horticulture Studies Group
Tri-County Horticulture Studies Group will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 16 at the McMahon Environmental Center on Butler Circle in Crestview. McMahon, retired forester, has spent many years planting more than 100 trees indigenous to Florida in the park. Okaloosa County Forester Maria Wilson will identify trees at the center. Seniors of Destin
The Seniors of Destin meet the fourth Friday of the month for a covered dish and to celebrate all birthdays for the month. The program is sponsored by the City of Destin and Gentiva Home Health. Each month has a featured guest speaker that pertains to senior living. Call 685-5310.
