Flea market/yard sale
A community flea market and yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon May 16 at Buck Destin Park, 724 Legion Drive in Destin.
“A To Do List for the Surviving Spouse” will be topic of a financial matters seminar at 10 a.m. May 18 in the Computer Lab, Suite 1, a modular building on the left end of front parking lot, at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. Reserve seat at 278-3600 or 877-416-1620.
Trees Destin, dedicated to improving Destin’s tree canopy and enhancing Destin’s beauty through planting, conservation and education, will host a nonprofit inaugural fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. May 19 at The Local Market, 950 Gulf Shore Drive next to La Paz. Free pizza, salad and soft drinks with beer and wine available. A tax deductible donation of at least $25 is requested.
Breast cancer support group

Health & Fitness Fair
Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Twin Cities Hospital will host the Fourth Annual Community Health & Fitness Fair from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 20 at Santa Rosa Mall in Mary Esther. The event is free and offers a complimentary continental breakfast until 9 a.m. Vendors and healthcare professionals will provide health information, educational materials, and basic health screenings for blood glucose, blood pressure, and body mass index, as well as vein screenings by the team from Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Healthy Start of Okaloosa/Walton County presents the World's Greatest Baby Shower from 5:30-8 p.m. May 21 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center for pregnant women and new parents who had a baby in the last three months.
Alzheimer’s Support Group

Driver Safety Class
An AARP’s Driver Safety Class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 28 help participants learn current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment at Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast Resource Center, Suite 3. Rocky Bayou Christian School invites the public to its Commencement Seminar to be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. May 30 at the Generations United Church, 108 Hwy. 85 in Niceville. The Commencement speaker will be Mickey Bowdon.
Family Independence Day Celebration & Bike Parade: The City of Destin will host its Annual Family Independence Day Celebration & Bike Parade from 6:30-9 p.m. July 1 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. The event welcomes the entire family with fun activities for children of all ages. The Bike Parade will start the celebration at 6:30 p.m. Children 14 and under are asked to decorate their bike, scooter or wagon patriotically. Awards will be given for different categories and ages. Check-in will begin at 5:45 p.m. next to the information tent. Following the parade will be live music by local artist Chuck Lawson, a Bocce Ball Tournament, moonwalks, face painting, and much more. Big Truck Day
The Annual Big Truck Day will be held from 9-11 a.m. Aug. 7 in the Destin Community Center parking lot. The event welcomes children of all ages to come and see the unique trucks. There is no charge for the event. Call 654-5184.
Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market
The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s.Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams. Market is held on Wednesdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The WaterColor Coastal Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday at Cerulean Park. Traditional Farmers Market items such as local farm fresh produce, eggs, and dairy products will be available. There will also be a large variety of organic and homemade items such as Greek gourmet foods, hot and jerk sauces, grass fed beef, chicken, and pork. Market is held on Thursdays from March 12 through Labor Day.

This community event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays in Town Center in Rosemary Beach features fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, honey, cheese and more. Market is held on Thursdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

• Table Tennis: Tuesdays from 2-5 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
• Yoga: Class will be held Thursdays at noon. Open to all yoga enthusiasts of any level. Cost is $6/class. Please bring a mat and towel.
