Health & Fitness Fair
Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Twin Cities Hospital will host the Fourth Annual Community Health & Fitness Fair from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 20 at Santa Rosa Mall in Mary Esther. The event is free and offers a complimentary continental breakfast until 9 a.m. Vendors and healthcare professionals will provide health information, educational materials, and basic health screenings for blood glucose, blood pressure, and body mass index, as well as vein screenings by the team from Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Healthy Start of Okaloosa/Walton County presents the World's Greatest Baby Shower from 5:30-8 p.m. May 21 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center for pregnant women and new parents who had a baby in the last three months.
American Legion Post 296 will hold a Memorial Day celebration at 11 a.m. May 25 at Destin Memorial Cemetery, 108 Stahlman Ave. Everyone is welcome for free food and beverages following ceremony at the Post on Main Street.
Alzheimer’s Support Group
The Covenant Alzheimer’s Support Group meets from 2-3:30 p.m. May 26 in the Suite 3 Education Center at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. Call 499-3390. Meets last Tuesday of each month.
Florida Virtual School
Enrollment is opening for grades Kindergarten-12 for the 2015-16 school year of Florida Virtual School Full Time (FLVS FT), a statewide virtual public school. An information session will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. May 28 at Wingate by Wyndham Destin, 117 Palms Street. Driver Safety Class
An AARP’s Driver Safety Class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 28 help participants learn current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment at Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast Resource Center, Suite 3. Free Dental X-Rays
Students in the Dental Assisting Program at Northwest Florida State College will take free X-rays of your teeth from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 28-July 2, Monday through Thursday. Rocky Bayou Christian School invites the public to its Commencement Seminar to be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. May 30 at the Generations United Church, 108 Hwy. 85 in Niceville. The Commencement speaker will be Mickey Bowdon.
Summer Food Service Program
From June 10-Aug. 6, Destin Elementary School will serve breakfast from 7:15-8:15 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon. Nutritionally balanced meals will be provided to all children regardless of race, color, sex, disability, age or national origin during summer vacation when school breakfasts and lunches are not available. All children 18 years old and younger are eligible for meals at no charge.
Family Independence Day Celebration & Bike Parade
The City of Destin will host its Annual Family Independence Day Celebration & Bike Parade from 6:30-9 p.m. July 1 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. The event welcomes the entire family with fun activities for children of all ages. The Bike Parade will start the celebration at 6:30 p.m. Children 14 and under are asked to decorate their bike, scooter or wagon patriotically. Awards will be given for different categories and ages. Check-in will begin at 5:45 p.m. next to the information tent. Following the parade will be live music by local artist Chuck Lawson, a Bocce Ball Tournament, moonwalks, face painting, and much more. Big Truck Day
The Annual Big Truck Day will be held from 9-11 a.m. Aug. 7 in the Destin Community Center parking lot. The event welcomes children of all ages to come and see the unique trucks. There is no charge for the event. Call 654-5184.
Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market
The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s.Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams. Market is held on Wednesdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The WaterColor Coastal Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday at Cerulean Park. Traditional Farmers Market items such as local farm fresh produce, eggs, and dairy products will be available. There will also be a large variety of organic and homemade items such as Greek gourmet foods, hot and jerk sauces, grass fed beef, chicken, and pork. Market is held on Thursdays from March 12 through Labor Day.

This community event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays in Town Center in Rosemary Beach features fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, honey, cheese and more. Market is held on Thursdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Seaside Farmers Market
Get your pick of fresh produce, baked goods, dairy products, native plants and other unique offerings Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Amphitheatre behind Raw & Juicy. Enjoy special cooking demos and activities.
Every Thursday, Starbucks at HarborWalk Village will host StoryHour@Starbucks at 3:30 p.m. There will be hot chocolate available for the kids, and all parents get 20 percent off their purchase.

• Line Dancing: Class for beginners will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursdays. Intermediate lessons are held at 1:30. Open dance is from 1:15-1:30 p.m. The class is $6.
• Senior Pilates: Class will be held from 9-10 a.m. Mondays. Cost is $6/class.
• Table Tennis: Tuesdays from 2-5 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
• Yoga: Class will be held Thursdays at noon. Open to all yoga enthusiasts of any level. Cost is $6/class. Please bring a mat and towel.
• Zumba Gold: Mondays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. Cost is $6/class.
