Embroiderers' Guild

Horticulture Studies Group
The Tri-County Horticulture Studies Group will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 28 in Room 3 of the Valparaiso Community Library at 459 Valparaiso Parkway. The program, “Flowering Shrubs and Small Trees for Northwest Florida Landscapes,” will be given by Marie Harrison, author of a book on this topic. Following the presentation, the group is invited on a field trip to the Turkey Creek Nature Trail at 340 John Sims Parkway. If desired, participants can join the group for lunch at Helen Back where a special seating area and buffet will be prepared for the group. Call 678-9898.

The Okaloosa Republican Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at American Legion Post 235, 105 S.W. Hollywood Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach. United States Congressman Jeff Miller will be the guest speaker. Price of dinner is $15 and includes drinks and gratuity. Make a dinner reservation 376-2287.
MUG
The Mac Users Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1 in the NWF State College Student Services Center — Room 130. John Leake will present “Pixelmator for Mac” — a powerful, fast and easy to use image editor, which allows the user to enhance and touchup photos, plus sketch, draw and paint. Republican Women
The Republican Women of Okaloosa Federated will meet at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Wyndam Garden Hotel on Okaloosa Island. The qualified candidates for the Okaloosa County 2016 Municipal Elections in March have been invited to attend and each will be given two minutes to speak. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of bottled water for the USO as well as empty print cartridges, which are turned in for money for supplies at the USO.
