Special to The Log
This year's winner of the Destin Desserts competition was the Bijoux-Creamy Peanut Butter Truffle Delight. Next year's event is scheduled for Jan. 20. SPECIAL TO THE LOG

Get your sweet tooth ready for the Girl Scout’s sixth annual Destin Desserts competition. Seven area chefs will compete for the prestigious 2017 Destin Desserts Champion title. Chefs from Agean, LuLu’s, Clemenza’s, Jackacudas, Café Rico, The Black Pearl and Signature Catering of 30A will present their own original dessert creations for guests to sample using legendary Girl Scout cookies as the main ingredient.

Destin Desserts will be Jan. 20 at The Palms of Destin at 6 p.m., and includes a social hour, hors d’oeuvres, dessert tasting, voting, awards, silent auction and entertainment by the Niceville High School Big Band. Proceeds will benefit the Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle’s Camp Kolomoki, a 1,600-acre site in Walton County in need of repairs to re-open for the girls.

Tickets are $40 per person if pre-purchased and $45 at the door. Destin Desserts tickets are available at each chef’s restaurant, at all Girl Scout Service Centers, or online at www.EventBrite.com. For further information, contact destindesserts@gmail.com.
