OAA sets deadline for poster contest

Special to The Log

The Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) wants all Okaloosa County school students to participate in the ninth annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest.

The OAA wants to know what you consider “Summer Fun.” It can be anything you can create on paper with markers, pencils, paint, pastels, charcoal, or crayons.

There will be a first, second, and third place winner for three elementary school students (K-4), for three middle school students (5-7), and for three high school students (8-12) in Okaloosa County. Each first place winner will receive a $75 gift card, each second place winner will receive a $50 gift card and each third place winner will receive a $25 gift card. Additionally, the first place winners’ artwork will be posted in the OAA newsletter and on the OAA website.

Any Okaloosa County school student can enter. Entries can be submitted by an Okaloosa County school or by an individual student. The poster contest deadline is April 26. Please submit only one entry per student. Posters should be standard size (8 ½-by-11) for the contest and should include the name of the artist, their grade, and the name of their school.

Please mail your entries to Okaloosa Arts Alliance-Poster Contest, P.O. Box 4426, FWB, FL 32549. If you prefer you can drop off your entry at the Young Philosophers Society in the Santa Rosa Mall

All of the poster contest entries will be on display at Young Philosophers Society with a poster contest reception and winners announced from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, April 28. Email Amy at for more information about the poster contest.
