Shoreline Church hosts latest Serve Day

Special to Gannett
The Destin Log

Serve Day is an opportunity for Shoreline Church to come together and make a difference in the city they love, no strings attached. Serve Day is a family-friendly serve opportunity because they believe in the next generation and want to leave a legacy of generosity. Plus serving others is just fun!

In January, Shoreline hosted Serve Day at Destin Elementary School where they were able to complete a list of projects provided by the principal. For their most recent Serve Day on July 11, the church served at five separate locations.

At Harvest House they painted the parking lot and assisted in small projects; Bay clean up teams were able to serve by boat and clean trash up along the shoreline; at Youth Village in Fort Walton Beach work was done on beautification of their new facility; at Destin History & Fishing Museum they cleaned up the garden beds and laid out new pine straw and mulch. An online option was offered where people could pray specifically for these organizations and the events surrounding Serve Day. Overall about 130 people, adults and children, spread out throughout the community doing good.
