Surviving the Holidays seminar
“DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays” is a free seminar for people facing the holidays after a separation or divorce that will be held from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Coffee Shop at Village Baptist Church in Destin. Those who attend will receive a free book with more than 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival. Call 837-8107 to register.
Community Feast
Sunday, Nov. 18, will be a home coming day featuring all things good and plenty from pumpkins to peas and turkey, too, as First Baptist Church, 201 Beach Drive in Destin, welcomes saints and strangers to a grand community feast.
“By the goodness of God, we’re hosting a traditional Thanksgiving and inviting our community to join us to partake,” Pastor Farren Roper said. “We’re erecting a tent on the church playground, setting the table for a traditional feast filled with fun and fellowship with friends and extending a welcome to all of Destin to come have a home coming dinner on church grounds.”
Sunday morning service starts at 10:30 a.m. with home coming meal at noon.
The Gathering
The Gathering at Sandestin, a non-denominational Christian worship service, meets weekly at 10 a.m. in the Terrace Room of the Linkside Conference Center in the Sandestin Resort. David Seering, worship leader, and Billy Gray, pastor, lead the service.
Seering is a local entertainer who has performed for the military, three presidents, and a multitude of recording stars, not to mention many local events and charities. Gray is head of Billy Gray Ministries, a global missionary group that brings the Word of Christ.

Upper Room Morning Worship
Gather in the “upper room” upstairs at Marlin Grill in The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort at 9 a.m. each Sunday for an interdenominational morning service of teaching, praise and worship. Dress casual. Call 543-4382.
