Surviving the Holidays seminar

“DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays” is a free seminar for people facing the holidays after a separation or divorce that will be held from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Coffee Shop at Village Baptist Church in Destin. Those who attend will receive a free book with more than 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival. Call 837-8107 to register.

Meditation

The Sathya Sai Baba Group of Fort Walton Beach invites people of all faiths to join them for meditation, prayer and devotional singing at 2 p.m. Nov. 11. A video depicting the life and teachings of Sathya Sai Baba will be shown and refreshments will be served. Call 642-0183 for directions.

Friday night service

Join the pastors and members of All God’s Children & the Living Word Worship Center for a Friday Night Live Service at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at 40 John Sims Parkway in Valparaiso. Special guest will be Prophet Thelma Bassa of Orlando. All are invited. Call 678-7632.

Also join them for Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 18, immediately following morning worship service.

Community Feast

Sunday, Nov. 18, will be a home coming day featuring all things good and plenty from pumpkins to peas and turkey, too, as First Baptist Church, 201 Beach Drive in Destin, welcomes saints and strangers to a grand community feast.

Sunday morning service starts at 10:30 a.m. with home coming meal at noon.

The Gathering

The Gathering at Sandestin, a non-denominational Christian worship service, meets weekly at 10 a.m. in the Terrace Room of the Linkside Conference Center in the Sandestin Resort. David Seering, worship leader, and Billy Gray, pastor, lead the service.

Seering is a local entertainer who has performed for the military, three presidents, and a multitude of recording stars, not to mention many local events and charities. Gray is head of Billy Gray Ministries, a global missionary group that brings the Word of Christ.

Upper Room Morning Worship

Gather in the “upper room” upstairs at Marlin Grill in The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort at 9 a.m. each Sunday for an interdenominational morning service of teaching, praise and worship.
