The Destin United Methodist Women have a busy schedule that keeps them hopping year round. The weekend of Nov. 16-17 they had a booth at the Destin Community Center Craft Show, and many members were selling their “angelic” jewelry.

Sunday, Nov. 11, was Destin United Women Methodist Sunday. Donna Stiles, past president of the DUMW, presented a special recognition award in the form of a donation and a special pin to Jeanene Samples, a jack-of-all-trades at the church.

The award is presented each year to someone in the church who has been diligent and faithful in her work for the Lord. Samples, who has a beautiful voice, sings in the choir, praise team and often as a soloist with a smile on her face.

This lady is also very active in the Stephens Ministry and often takes altar flowers to the nursing homes. And she always has the answer when there is something you need to know about the church and has been a long time employee.

The women meet every Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Avery Hall for fellowship, fun, crafts and mission projects. If you would like to be involved, contact Nancy Williams at or 850-650-5587.
