Christmas Eve services in Destin

A special evening for all families to join in the true celebration of Christmas, Jesus Christ, takes place at 4 and 6 p.m. Christmas Eve at Destiny Worship Center.

Destin United Methodist Church

On Christmas Eve, there will be a 4 p.m. family worship service, and at 6 and 8 p.m. Candlelight Christmas Communion will be held in the Life Center and the Sanctuary, respectively. Eirinn Abu, saxophonist, will be special guest for the 6 and 8 p.m. services. Destin's own Chris Rappazini will bring the closing sermon on the year on Dec. 30. He is currently the pastoral preaching professor at Moody Bible Institute in Washington State.

Immanuel Anglican Church

A Family Service will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and features carols, communion and a pageant including puppets. In “Once Upon a Manger” the animals that witnessed the birth of Jesus tell of the events surrounding the Savior’s arrival. The service is designed with young ones in mind, and children of all ages are welcome. A traditional Candlelight Service featuring liturgical Spirit-filled worship and a full choir accompanied by piano and organ, embodies the depth and richness of the Anglican tradition from 8-9:30 p.m. Dec. 24.

Shoreline Church

Identical services will be held to celebrate Christmas. At 7 p.m. Dec. 20, a service will be held at Shoreline in Uptown Station in Fort Walton Beach. Childcare for children ages 0-5 only. On Dec. 23, services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. will be held at the Rave in Destin Commons and also at Uptown Station. Childcare will be available for babies through fifth grade. On Christmas Eve, a service will be held at 6 p.m. at Uptown Station. Childcare for ages 0-5 only.

Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church

Safe Harbor will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. Dec. 24.

St. Andrew's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church

Celebrate on Christmas Eve with a choral festal Holy Eucharist and special choral and instrumental music from 6-6:30 p.m. and service following with everyone singing “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” On Christmas Day, a Holy Eucharist with Christmas carols begins at 10 a.m.
