MIRACLE MESSAGE: Faith that pleases God

Isaac Prather

The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:6 that “Without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, AND that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."

I want you to see what kind of faith you are going to have to have if you are going to get God’s attention, and receive His favor.

Make no mistake about it. Not everyone has the same grace in their life. But the wonderful thing is that anyone can have great grace upon their life. The most bountiful grace comes to those who exercise greatest faith towards God. Anyone can show God that they have great faith. To do so, we must only demonstrate to God that we believe His word, will obey it, and will act diligently upon that which we have believed.

The first thing that we must believe if we are to please God and receive His favor upon our lives is the gospel of His Son Jesus Christ. If one is so blind that He rejects the love of God, which was demonstrated when God gave Jesus to be crucified for our sins, then he will never be able to please God.

To even get God, in all of His majesty and glory, to gaze in our direction, we must come like little helpless children, like little unworthy beggars, crying out to God, calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, “Have mercy upon me, a sinner! Please forgive my sins, and wash me in your holy blood!” Jesus Christ died for every sinner in the whole world, and everyone, including you, without the forgiveness of Jesus Christ, is a sinner destined for hell. But for those who place their faith in the blood of Christ that was shed for them upon the cross of Calvary more than 2,000 years ago, all old things, and every past sin, mistake, and failure, can pass away — and all things can become new. This is because “God hath made Jesus to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Jesus is the only Savior that mankind has. And we could never want a more gracious and compassionate one. But many people have never experienced His saving power because they have not yet surrendered to Him as their Lord. But those who will humbly and willingly do so will find that Jesus is not only a savior from sin, but also a healer of sickness and disease, a deliverer from depression and oppression, a sanctifier, and a provider.

It is not until we are truly broken that the Lord can begin to put our lives back together again. Many people look at brokenness as a terrible thing. And if there were no remedy, then surely it would be. But thanks be unto God — there is a remedy. His name is Jesus. What is so sad is that there are many people whose lives are shattered, yet they will not let go of yesterday in order to grab hold of His healing nail-scarred hand.

But for those who will, the favor of the Lord is waiting for you. The power of God can take the most miserable mess, and make a life-changing message out of it. But this can only happen, just as many have discovered throughout history, if you dare to have faith in His unchanging, unfailing Word. All things are possible to him that believeth. Faith is our victory. Faith never quits. Faith endures.
