CAPTAIN'S LOG: Make a commitment, led by Holy Spirit

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Have you ever prayed that? Of course, many times, even if you aren’t a “Christian.”

Well, did you mean it?

Many folks say things that they don’t mean, and I meet them all the time.

When we are praying we need to remember we are speaking to Almighty God, our Lord Jesus.

Did you know He left His disciples (all born again) to establish His Kingdom (rule) here?

It was a simple assignment. Love Him with all we have and love others the way we love ourselves.

Most failed to do the first one and then the second became actually impossible.

Unless we fall in love with Jesus, He will never be first in our lives.

Instead we will sort of work around these Two Great Commandments thinking we are OK. I don’t think we are and if you look about, the Lord is doing or allowing things to gain our attention.

Remember —

He loves everyone and it doesn’t matter if they return His love, not even one tiny bit.

JESUS is love and He’s not going to change for anyone.

However, be forewarned. He won’t cut anyone any slack.

There’s going to be a Judgment Day for His kids, too. How we lived after coming to know Jesus is extremely important to Him.

How my own family lives is also very important to me and right at this moment, to be honest, I’m not pleased.

He told me one day, “Change normally follows trouble.”

I hope we who are willing to listen to Jesus (those who have ears to hear) will accept all this messy trouble from the storm to make some serious changes in our relationship with Jesus. There is far greater trouble on the way.

Those who refuse to go to the cross and submit to His Lordship don’t have a relationship, but we who’ve been there do.

Let today be a great day in the Kingdom of God.

Admit you’ve been failing to do your portion in extending His Kingdom and ask for His forgiveness and you’ll have it instantly.

Then —

Make a solid commitment to do His will as led by the Holy Spirit within you. He will lead you to do “something,” and you can count on it.
