60th Anniversary Service

First Baptist Church of Destin, 201 Beach Drive, will celebrate its 60th Anniversary Service at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 14. Bible study is at 9:15 a.m. After the service, there will be a lunch in the fellowship hall downstairs with activities for the children. All are welcome.

Grief Support Group

The Destin United Methodist Church sponsored Stephen Ministers will hold a grief group for all those who have experienced a loss. The group will meet for six consecutive weeks, with a one-hour preview or introduction at 2 p.m. Sept. 11 in the Destin Life Center building. This meeting will discuss the six week course and answer questions.

If you feel that the Grief Group could be helpful please let us know so we can have a place for you. The attempt to return to the routines of one’s life after facing a significant loss is no small challenge. Our group will recognize the need to grieve and the need to slow down and take it easy. One day at a time is not just a cliché, it is a guiding principle for those facing loss.
