Award-winning author Gail Pallotta will sign copies of her new Christian novella, “Mountain of Love and Danger,” and her Christian teen novel, “Stopped Cold,” from 12-4 p.m. Oct. 11 at San Gelato in Silver Sands Premium Outlets and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 at Sundog Books, 89 Central Square in Seaside.

A brand new release, Mountain of Love and Danger is fifth in a series of re-told fairy tales. The Christian message is: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” from Romans 8:31.

The hero, Jack Greenthumb, finds romance in Fairwilde Kingdom — a different day — a different girl. Then a cruel mystery begins. Dad’s beaten, the family farm destroyed and Jack’s true love, Gwendolyn Bante, kidnapped. Jack’s undercover operation reveals Gwenie’s a captive atop a mountain accessible only by helicopter. Reaching her is a dangerous expedition even for a champion rock climber like Jack. However, a Greenthumb Acres employee plants a miraculous seed from Heaven for the rescue. Suspense mounts as Jack scales the perilous cliff to face a brute and a treacherous descent in this retelling of the fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk.

“An online buddy of mine asked me and three other authors to contribute to a Fairwilde Reflection series,” said Pallotta. “It’s been fun. For my book, I had to learn about mountain and rock climbing. Fortunately, in addition to research, I was able to solicit technical advice from a young man adept in both sports.”

Pallotta’s other book, “Stopped Cold,” finished fourth in the 16th Annual Preditors & Editors Readers Poll and was a Grace Awards Finalist. The award’s given to books of excellence presenting a Christian world view. Pallotta said the message of ‘Stopped Cold’ is, “We don’t have to be number one for God to love us.”
