Sign language course
Destin United Methodist Church will offer a four-week beginning American Sign Language course from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays starting Jan. 8 in the Destin Life Center, 200 Beach Drive. Classes will be taught by Colleen Langdon of Washington. Cost of course is $50, ages 16 and above. To enroll, call 837-2021 or 582-2548.
AGLOW
Fort Walton Beach Aglow will meet at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 8 at Marina Bay Resort, 80 Miracle Strip Parkway. Prophetess Debra Kearney will bring the Word of the Lord for 2015. Call 862-4867.
Grief Support Group
The Destin United Methodist Church sponsored Stephen Ministers are forming a Grief Group for all those who have experienced a loss. The group will meet for six consecutive weeks. The attempt to return to the routines of one’s life after facing a significant loss is no small challenge. The group will recognize the need to grieve and the need to slow down and take it easy.
A one hour preview or introduction to the Grief Group will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 15 in the Destin Life Center (DLC) building. This meeting will discuss the six week course and answer questions. Please let group know if you plan to attend. The group begins at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 also in the DLC. Bible study
With so many voices coming at you...How can you know who is right? Every day you are bombarded with messages that promise happiness, predict doom and gloom, or simply try to grab your attention. But are those voices trustworthy? Can they help you steer your life in the right direction?
The prophet Jeremiah boldly proclaimed the word of the Lord, even when times were difficult and the news wasn’t easy for the people to accept. His example and the lessons he proclaimed will empower you to faithfully listen to and follow the Word of God as you observe his message, interpret its meaning, and apply truth to your own life.
A Bible study on Jeremiah, “Listening to God in Difficult Times,” begins Jan. 20 for 14 weeks at the Enclave Condominium Clubhouse, 3655 Scenic Hwy 98 in Destin. Women only class is at 10 a.m. and men/women class is at 6:30 p.m. If you can’t attend, you can study by remote.

Celebrate Recovery
Overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups every Monday night at the Destin Life Center on Beach Drive. Optional $5 dinner is from 5:45-6:30 p.m.; program 6:30-8:30 p.m.; and a dessert fellowship at 8:30.
