Great Night of Methodist Singing

More than 230 voices, including smaller vocal ensembles and an orchestra, will come together to perform traditional and contemporary songs for one Great Night of Methodist Singing at 6 p.m. Feb. 8 on the Mainstage at Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville.

This popular and unique event is a combined effort of nine area United Methodist Church choirs — Destin, Crestview First, Crosspoint Niceville, Crosspoint South Crestview, Fort Walton Beach First, Mary Esther, Navarre, Shalimar and Trinity in Fort Walton Beach.

There is no admission charge and the event is open to the public. A love offering will be taken to provide local music scholarships and to cover expenses.


Fort Walton Beach Aglow will meet at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 12 at Marina Bay Resort, 80 Miracle Strip Parkway. Dr. Debra Gottlieb, a prophetic Bible teacher and minister will be guest speaker. Her research focus is Jewish studies, Holocaust Theology and Israeli issues. Call 862-4867.

Village Concert Series

Triumphant Quartet will perform at 6 p.m. Feb. 22 at Village Baptist Church in Destin. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10.

Celebrate Recovery

Overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups every Monday night at the Destin Life Center on Beach Drive. Optional $5 dinner is from 5:45-6:30 p.m.; program 6:30-8:30 p.m.; and a dessert fellowship at 8:30. Free childcare available for birth through fifth grade. Call 837-2021, ext. 26 or email
