Easter Dinner

Good News UMC will have a family Easter Dinner, catered by Townsend Catering Company, at 5:15 p.m. April 1. Reservations need to be made by March 30. After dinner be a time of Family Worship and then an Easter Egg Hunt. To make reservations, call 699-6030.

Holy Week at Immanuel Anglican

 Services to be held during Holy Week at Immanuel Anglican Church, 250 Indian Bayou Trail in Destin, include:

• April 2: Maundy Thursday — Soup & Salad Meal, 5:30 p.m. Bring a dish to share. Footwashing, Holy Communion and Service of Shadows at 7 p.m. with childcare provided.

• April 3: Good Friday — Service at noon; Stations of the Cross, 1 p.m.

• April 5: Easter Sunday — Easter Vigil and SON-rise Service with Holy Communion at 5:30 a.m. Traditional Spirit-filled Worship with Holy Communion, 9 a.m. with childcare provided. Contemporary Spirit-filled Worship with Holy Communion, 11:01 a.m. with childcare provided. 

Holy Week at FWB First UMC

Fort Walton Beach First United Methodist Church (FWB First UMC) will hold several services during Holy Week. Palm Sunday Worship is at 8:30 and 11 a.m. March 29 with a church-wide Palm Sunday celebration at noon.

Maundy Thursday Worship is at 7 p.m. April 2. Good Friday Worship (Tenebrae: A Service of Shadows) is at 7 p.m. April 3.

Easter Day Worship Services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. April 5. All are invited and nursery for ages 3 and under will be provided during all the services.

More of the Holy Spirit

Experience Immanuel Anglican’s evening of seeking the Holy Spirit through informal teaching, fellowship and worship from 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 31 in the church sanctuary, 250 Indian Bayou Trail in Destin.

Guest speaker is Isa Bajalia, an Arab-American evangelical who served for 18 years as a pastor in war-torn Ramallah. His missionary work among the Palestinians, (predominantly Muslim) was on the volatile West Bank in the midst of an ongoing war.

Vacation Bible school

Destin UMC Expedition Everest VBS will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 8-12 at 200 Beach Drive for children who have completed Pre-K through fifth grade. Cost is $15/children. Caring Coach

Catholic Charities of NW Florida will hold a food distribution at 3 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at The Baker Recreation Center; at 1 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at St. Margaret’s; and at 1 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month at Resurrection Church.

An ID is required for each household.  Please feel free to tell anyone you know who may be in need of food assistance or SNAP enrollment to contact our office at 244-2825 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Celebrate Recovery

Overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups every Monday night at the Destin Life Center on Beach Drive. Optional $5 dinner is from 5:45-6:30 p.m.; program 6:30-8:30 p.m.; and a dessert fellowship at 8:30.
